Eric Lemieux, Founding President and Partner

 

Eric Lemieux is President and Managing Partner of M2S Capital.  

 

Mr. Lemieux was Chief Executive Officer of the International Financial Centre of Montréal and Finance Montréal until the end of his 3 years mandate ending March 31st 2015. His role was to help develop and raise the profile of the financial services industry in Montréal and Québec. Mr. Lemieux—a top-tier executive with an extensive track record as a senior manager in the financial and technologies industry has been delegated by Desjardins group to Finance Montreal and the International Financial Centre to put in place this new organization.

 

While at Desjardins Group, Mr. Lemieux was Senior Vice-President, Technology, Property and Casualty Insurance and a member of the Desjardins General Insurance Group Management Committee from 2009 to 2012. From 2005 to 2009, he was Vice‑President, Wealth Management, overseeing business development and performance of a sales force made up of close to 7,500 group savings representatives, 1,500 of which were financial planners. From 2000 to 2005, he was Vice-President, Personal Banking, which meant he was in charge of all Desjardins Group contact centres, Desjardins.com websites, Accès D, Accès D Affaires, ATMs and point-of-sale terminals. He was responsible for personal banking as well.

 

A successful entrepreneur, Mr. Lemieux co-founded Sofitech, a firm in the information technology sector, and acted as President from 1989 to 2008. Prior to this, he was Assistant Director at KPMG Peat Marwick.

 

Mr. Lemieux has an MBA from Laval University and has also completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is actively involved in the advancement of the strategic priorities important to Québec’s and Canada’s business communities. To that effect, Mr. Lemieux is a member of the International Financial Centre of Montréal, The Canadian Club and the Garrison Club of Quebec City Boards of Directors. Mr. Lemieux is actively engaged in various philanthropic causes notably as a Chair of the board of PolyFinances and as a member of the Board of La Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie. He is also Chair of the Fondation du Cégep du Vieux-Montréal major donors' committee. In 2012, Mr. Lemieux also took part in a mission to ascend Mount Everest’s Base Camp in support of Maison Michel-Sarrazin, a non-profit palliative and compassionate care establishment. From 1996 to 2005, Mr. Lemieux acted as a member and then as President of the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation. From 2002 to 2005, he was a member of the Interac and Acsys Boards of Directors.

 

Mr. Lemieux and his wife are parents of three children.
